We all love to enjoy our evening tea with some new snacks. Here is one such healthy recipe to enjoy with your tea.

Ingredients:
- 1 cup whole green moong dal
- 1/2 cup Sago seeds (Sabudhana)
- 1 medium sized onion
- 1 green chilli
- a bunch of curry leaves
- 1/2 inch ginger piece (grated)
- salt
- a handful of coriander leaves (finely chopped)
- 1 spoon Eno (fruit salt)

Method:
1. Wash and soak Moong dal and sago seeds for 6-7 hours.

2.  Grind soaked sago seeds and moong dal into a fine paste and transfer it to a bowl. The consistency of the batter should be thick like that of Idli batter.
(Grind the sago seeds first and then moong dal by adding very less amount of water)

3. Add required amount of salt and  mix the batter nicely using a whisker and allow it to rest for about one hour.

4. After one hour add finely chopped onions, green chilli, curry leaves, coriander leaves, grated ginger and mix it using a spoon.

5. Add eno salt and gently mix the batter.

6. Heat the appe pan and grease each mould with oil generously.  Once the pan is hot pour a laddle full of batter into each mould.

7. Cover and cook for about 4-5 minutes on medium flame and check whether the base portion is cooked to golden brown.

8. Once the base portion is cooked to golden brown flip all the appam with a stick or knife and cook the other side till it turns crisp golden brown.

9. Repeat the process with the remaining batter.

10. Your delicious moong appe is ready to be served.

Serve it hot with coconut chutney/green chutney or raita.

Do try this recipe and share it with your friends and family.

Note:
- You can replace onions with 15-20 shallots.

- you can also make this recipe more healthier by adding 1/4th cup grated carrot and green peas.
