Ragda Pattice

Ragda Pattice is one of the favourite street food that every one of us enjoy.
Why not give this delicious chatpati snack a try & enjoy it with our family & friends..
So,here I am sharing with you all a simple, easy & quick way of making ragda pattice.



Ingredients -
For Ragda
- 1 cup yellow peas
-Salt
-Pinch of turmeric powder

For pattice
- 2 potatoes
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon chat masala 
- 1/2 teaspoon asafoetida (Hing)

For Green chutney
- 1 cup coriander leaves
- 1/2 cup mint leaves
- 2 green chilli
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1/2 inch ginger piece
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon chat masala
- 2 spoon roasted bengal gram(Chutney Dal)

For meetha chutney
- 4 dates
- 1/2 cup powdered jaggery
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon corn starch powder

Method:-

Making Ragda:- 
1.Take 1 cup of yellow peas(Peeli Matar), rinse it nicely & soak overnight or atleast for 8 hours before cooking.

2.Drain the water from the peas & add fresh water,Salt & a pinch of turmeric & cook it for 6-7 whistles in the cooker.

3.Remove the cooked peas in a bowl,mash it nicely & keep the ragda aside.

Making Potato Pattice:-
1.Now take 2 boiled potatoes in a large bowl & mash it without any lumps.

2.Add a ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder, asafoetida,chaat masala salt as required.

3.Knead the mashed potato into a single ball as we make dough.

4.Now, make small equal portions out of it,make balls without crack & slightly flatten it with your palms like a tikki.

5.Place all the Pattice in a tawa by adding 1 spoon of oil & let it cook till the colour changes to golden brown & flip & cook the other side as well.

6.Once the patties are ready,keep them in a plate & start making the chutneys.

Making Green Chutney:-
1.Add coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chillies, garlic cloves, ginger, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, chat masala & roasted bengal gram in a mixer jar & grind into a thick paste and your green chutney is ready.

Making Meetha Chutney:-
1.Now grind the jaggery & Dates into a thick paste.

2.Take a pan,add this paste & a glass of water,crushed fennel & cumin seeds & corn starch powder.

3.Let this mixture cook for 10 mins & once the consistency get thickened switch off the flame.

Making Ragda Pattice:-
1.Take a plate,place 2 aloo patty & add spoonful of meetha chutney & green chutney.

2.Then fill the plate with the ragda you have prepared.

3.Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves, onion & handful of sev. 

4.Your Ragda Pattice is ready to be enjoyed. (You can also add 2 spoon of fresh curd and sprinkle some chat masala while serving)

This preparation seems to be a very lengthy process,but it takes very less time to make each one of these items.
