These elegant little cashew treats are proof that you don't need hours in the kitchen to make something truly special. Simple ingredients, minimal effort, and a rich, delicious result make this recipe one you'll want to prepare again and again.
Ingredients
1 cup cashew nuts
½ cup brown sugar
3 teaspoons milk
1 teaspoon melted ghee
Edible silver varak (silver leaf), for garnish
Method
Step 1:
Add the brown sugar to a mixer jar and grind it into a fine powder.
Step 2:
Without removing the powdered sugar, add the cashew nuts to the same jar. Grind until the mixture is well combined and the cashews begin to release their natural oils. The texture should be slightly crumbly and should hold together when pressed.
Step 3:
Transfer the mixture to a plate. Add the milk and melted ghee, then knead gently until it forms a smooth, soft dough.
Step 4:
Divide the dough into equal portions and roll them into small, smooth balls.
Step 5:
Gently apply edible silver varak over each ball for a beautiful festive finish.
Step 6:
Allow the sweets to rest for about 30 minutes before serving. This helps them firm up slightly and enhances their texture.
Tips
Grind the cashews only until they release a little oil. Over-grinding may turn them into cashew butter.
Use fresh, good-quality cashews for the best taste and texture.
Store the sweets in an airtight container. They stay fresh for 2–3 days at room temperature or up to a week in the refrigerator.
