If you’re looking for a wholesome dessert that blends traditional Indian flavors with a chocolaty twist, this Cocoa Rawa Halwa is perfect. Made with jaggery for natural sweetness, enriched with milk, and loaded with dry fruits, it’s a comforting treat for any occasion.
- ½ cup rawa/semolina
- 3 spoon cocoa powder
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups jaggery powder
- 4 tbsp ghee
- 10 cashew nuts, almonds, pistachios, raisins
- 2 walnuts
- 5 dried figs/anjeer
Method
1. Chop dry fruits finely and keep aside.
2. In a pan, add 1 spoon ghee and roast the rawa until aromatic and golden brown. Transfer to a plate, mix in cocoa powder while hot, and set aside.
3. In the same pan, add 1 spoon ghee and roast all the dry fruits for about a minute on low flame. Keep aside.
4. In a pan, combine water and milk. Bring to a boil. Slowly add the roasted rawa-cocoa mixture, stirring continuously on medium flame until the liquid is absorbed.
5. Add jaggery powder, mix well, and cook until the mixture slightly loosens. Add roasted dry fruits and continue cooking until it thickens to halwa consistency.
6. Finally, add 2 spoons of ghee, mix thoroughly, and serve hot.
