Ragi Milk Halwa

A Nutritious Sweet Delight

Ingredients
1 cup ragi (finger millet)
1 whole coconut (grated)
2 cups jaggery powder
¼ cup broken cashew nuts
2 tablespoon ghee

Method
- Soak the Ragi

- Wash the ragi thoroughly and soak it overnight.

Extract Ragi Milk

- Grind the soaked ragi with 1 cup of water. Strain to extract the milk.

- Repeat the process with another cup of water to get more ragi milk.

Extract Coconut Milk

- Grind the grated coconut with 1 cup of water and strain to get thick coconut milk.

- Add another cup of water to the coconut residue, grind again, and extract the second milk.

Prepare the Mixture

- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ragi milk, coconut milk, and jaggery powder. Mix well until smooth.

- Strain the mixture to remove any coarse particles.

Cook the Halwa

- Transfer the mixture into a heavy-bottomed pan. Cook on medium flame, stirring continuously until it begins to thicken.

- Add ghee and broken cashew nuts. Keep stirring until the mixture leaves the sides of the pan.

Set and Serve

- Pour the thick halwa mixture onto a greased plate.

- Allow it to cool, then cut into pieces.
