Savoury Vegetable Cake

Savoury Vegetable Cake - A best snack to be served in the evening. During this lockdown, we have tried many recipes to make our loved ones happy.

This is one such recipe & for sure everyone especially children will love it & is also a very healthy recipe that all can enjoy.


Ingredients :

Idli Batter - 1½ Cup
Jowar flour - ¼ Cup
Ragi flour - ¾ Cup
Rawa - ¼ Cup
Curd - 1 Cup
Salt
Turmeric Powder - ¼ teaspoon
Coriander Seeds Powder - 1 teaspoon
Pepper Powder - ¼ teaspoon
Asafoetida - ¼ teaspoon
Carrot - 1
Beetroot - 1
Capsicum - 2
Corn kernels - ¼ Cup
Onion - 1
Tomato - 1
Green Chilli - 2
Coriander Leaves
Sesame Oil/Edible Oil - 2 Spoon
Mustard Seeds - 1 Spoon
Jeera - ½ Spoon
White Sesame Seeds - ½ Spoon
Grated Coconut - 2 Spoon

Method 

1.Take out a big bowl, add Idli Batter, jowar flour, ragi flour, Rawa & Curd.

2.Now add salt, pepper powder, coriander seeds powder, asafoetida & turmeric powder.

3.Mix all the ingredients well & check the consistency. It should be thick pouring consistency. (Add Water as required)

4.Keep the batter aside for 1 hour.

5.Till the batter is set,take out another bowl for making the veggie mix.

6.Boil the corn kernels, carrot & beetroot & grate it & add it in the bowl.

7.Next add finely chopped capsicum, green chillies, tomato, onion & coriander leaves.

8.Add salt & mix it nicely.

9.Now place a kadai/steamer on the gas, add water & switch on the flame.

10.Meanwhile, take a plate grease it with sesame oil or any edible oil of your choice & pour a layer of the batter prepared.

11.Now spread the veggie mix over the batter & cover it with the batter again.

12. Place the plate into the preheated kadai/ steamer & let it cook for 40-45 minutes.

13.Check by inserting a toothpick, if it comes out without sticking your savoury cake is ready to be served.

14.Now take a small kadai, add oil for seasoning. Once the oil is hot,add mustard seeds, Jeera & White Sesame Seeds. Let it splutter.

15.Now pour this seasoning over the savoury cake & garnish it with grated coconut


Note : You can add vegetable as per your choice. Also you can add paneer or cheese as per availability.
