Golden Milk - A super healthy immunity booster cum delicious Indian traditional drink. The spices that we include for making this milk has antioxidants in it. Let's make it a habit of having this golden milk regularly for a healthy life.
Ingredients -
1 cardamom (elaichi)
1 inch cinnamon stick (dalchini)
1 clove (lavang)
4 pepper corns (kalimiri)
1 inch ginger piece
1/2 spoon turmeric powder (haldi)
4-5 strands saffron (kesar) - optional
2 spoon honey
Method -
1. Take a mortar pestle, add all the dry ingredients- (Cardamom, cinnamon, clove and pepper corns) and grind it into a fine powder and then add the ginger piece and crush it along with the masala and keep it ready.
2. Take a pan add half cup water to it. once the water starts to boil add the crushed masalas and allow it to boil for about 5mins so that all the essence of masala is transferred into the water completely.
3. Next add one and half cup milk, 1/2 spoon turmeric powder, saffron strands and boil it along with the concoction for about 10 mins on medium flame. Make sure to stir the milk continuously.
4. Switch off the flame, strain the golden aromatic milk and then add 2 spoon honey and stir till the honey dissolves completely and serve.
Note :
This recipe serves 2 people.
Honey should be added at last once you remove the milk from the flame.
If you don't have honey you can replace honey with 2 spoon powdered jaggery.
