Beetroot Juice

Beetroot Juice - A blessed recipe for your body which is loaded with vitamins, minerals and a study has proved that consuming beetroot regularly can prevent cancer. Ingredients - 1 beetroot 1 small lemon 1/4 spoon chat masala Salt (as per your requirement) Method - 1. Cut the beetroot in small pieces. 2. Grind the beetroot in a mixer jar by adding 1/2 cup water. 3. Strain the juice in a glass. 4. Squeeze a lemon into it. 5. Add chat masala and salt and stir it. (You can also add 2 ice cubes if you want to) Note: you can enjoy this drink in an empty stomach or it can also be enjoyed as an afternoon drink.

Garlic Rasam

Garlic Rasam - Tasty recipe with numerous health benefits - aids digestion, acts as antioxidant and gives you instant relief during cough and cold. Ingredients -  2 tomatoes 4-5 garlic cloves A small piece of jaggery 1 spoon Coriander seeds (Dhaniya) 1/2 spoon Cumin seeds (Jeera) 1/2 cup split moong dal 1/4 fenugreek seeds 2 red Chillies 4-5 black pepper  Coriander leaves Bunch of curry leaves 1 spoon rasam powder 1/4 spoon turmeric powder (Haldi) A pinch of asafoetida (Hing) 1 spoon mustard seeds Salt Method - 1. Mash the tomatoes with your hand/vegetable masher and keep it aside. Or else you can finely chop the tomatoes into small cubes.  2  Cook the moong dal in cooker for 4 whistles and keep it aside.  3. Dry roast cumin seeds, coriander seeds, pepper, fenugreek seeds, garlic and red chilli one by one slightly for 3-4 mins each and grind it to a coarse powder using mortar pestle. 4. Green chutney - A healthy and easiest recipe that allows you to add more greens into  your diet. It also helps to aid digestion and also regulates blood sugar levels. Ingredients -  2 cups coriander leaves (dhaniya) 1 cup mint leaves (pudhina) 1/4 cup Bengal gram (roasted chana dal) or roasted peanuts - optional. 1 inch sliced ginger 4 garlic cloves 4 pepper corns 2 green chillies 1/2 cup thick fresh curd 1/4 cup grated coconut 1/4 spoon sugar Salt For seasoning (tadka) -  2 spoon sunflower/peanut oil 1/2 spoon mustard seeds Method -  1. Add coriander leaves, mint leaves, bengal gram or roasted peanuts (optional) , ginger, garlic, pepper, green chilly, curd, grated coconut, sugar and salt in a mixer jar. 2. Grind the mixture until you get smooth creamy texture. 3. Transfer the chutney into a bowl. 4. Heat oil in a tadka pan and add mustard seeds into the oil and allow it to splutter. 5. Masala Chaas - A recipe made with buttermilk and aromatic spices which helps to calm your stomach and aids digestion. Ingredients -  1/4th glass Curd 3/4 th glass Water 1/4th teaspoon roasted cumin seed powder (roasted jeera powder) A pinch of asafoetida (hing) A pinch of chaat masala Salt 1/4 teaspoon sugar Finely chopped coriander leaves. Method - 1.Take 1/4th glass curd and beat it nicely with fork spoon until you get smooth texture. 2. Now add 3/4 glass of water to the beaten curd. 3. Add roasted cumin seed powder, asafoetida, sugar, chat masala and salt as per your requirement into the chaas and give it a good mix. 4. Garnish the masala chaas with coriander leaves.( You can add some ice cubes if you want) Note: you can enjoy this refreshing drink after lunch.

Banana peanut butter sandwich

Apple Banana Smoothie

Apple Banana Smoothie - A simpler nutritious fibre rich quick recipe.  Add caption Ingredients -  1 Apple 1 Banana 2 spoon powdered jaggery 4 Almonds and Cashew nuts and some raisins. A pinch of cinamon powder Method - 1. Chop apple and banana roughly. 2. Add the chopped fruits, jaggery powder and cinamon powder in a mixer jar. 3. Blend the mixture into a smooth paste. 4. Do not add water, you can add milk to adjust the consistency as per your requirement. (This step is optional) 5. Pour the blended juice into a glass. 6.
