Dosa Batter

Dosa batter - Dosa is considered to be one of the healthiest south Indian breakfast recipe. The perfect dosas can be made if you excel the art of making the batter in a right way. 


Ingredients -
- 3 cup rice
- 1 cup urad dal
- 1/2 cup flattened rice (poha)
- 1 spoon fenugreek seeds
- Salt
- Water

Method -
1. Wash and soak the rice, fenugreek seeds and urad dal overnight/6-8 hours separately.

2. Soak poha 30 minutes before grinding.

3. Take a mixer jar add urad dal, 1/4th cup water and grind it till you get smooth thick fluffly paste. 

4. Transfer the urad dal paste into a mixing bowl.

5. Next add the flattened poha, rice, fenugreek seeds, 1/2 cup water and grind it to a smooth   paste.

6. Transfer the rice batter into the mixing bowl and mix the urad dal paste and rice batter nicely using your hand/laddle.

7. Allow the batter to ferment at room temperature for about 8-10 hours.

8. Once the batter is fermented add required amount of salt and mix the batter nicely and your dosa batter is ready to go on tawa. 😉

Note: 
Make sure the consistency of the batter should be free flowing and not runny.

This batter can be used for making crispy dosa, uttapam, masala dosa etc.
